Kinsarvik at Hardangerfjord in Norway.

 

We are Hans and Birgit Bjørnstad. Hans has an education as electronic tecnician. Today he works as an EDB tecnician in a computer company. Birgit has an education as decorator but at the moment she works part time at Grundfos in Bjerringbro.

Hans was born in Norway, and come from a little town called Flisa. We have, during over 30 years of marriage, spend many wonderful vacations up there.
We have always had the interest of the nature in common, and in the beginning of the 80´s we both took game licens, but now it's mostly Hans, who is active as hunter, while Birgit takes care of the game which is brought home.
After living in a traditional house in Bjerringbro for more than 20 years, we decided to buy a nice big forest ground in Tange near Bjerringbro in 1997, and we builded a nice little wooden house, which we called SKOVHUSET. For the first time we had the opportunity to make a house completely after our own wishes. Our two children, Marit and Andreas, were not living at home anymore so our need of space was not that big. We moved into the house in November 1997, and we have enjoyed it from the very first moment. It is so peaceful and quiet, and we have the nature just outside the door.

The first winter we got a visit from a tame pheasant, which we named HOLGER. He came all the way up to our terrace and knocked on the windows in the livingroom, if we had forgotten to put out some food for him. We also had the pleasure that our terrace also became a home to both squirrels, pigeons, woodpeckers and a lot of other birds, which we could see very closely from our livingroom.
Roe-deers are sometimes passing through outside our house, and sometimes we also catch a glimpse of a fox.

 In connection with us moving into our new home, we unfortunately had to leave our Dachs EMMA behind. While we were building the house we realised that her hunting instincts was too big and her obeydience too small, so we couldn´t let her come along. Our big ground was not ment to be fenced off, so EMMA moved in with a gamekeeper and his parents - far out in the country, where she could walk free and participate in all the huntings she could ever imagine.

For some years we didn't have a dog, but the loss was too big and in 2002 we decided that we would like to get a dog again, and we started looking for a hunting-dog for Hans.
We bought 'Malou' and she gave us the great interest in Labradors and the work with this particularly breed. In 'Malou' we have got a excellent hunting-dog and she has a great talent within tracking. In 2003 we also got a yellow labrador bitch 'Dina', but her working ability was very up and down and eventually we decided that she was better off with another family. She now lives as a family pet and are well. In 2005 'Malou' got two litters and we kept a girl from the Abba-litter born in January - Lab-x-streams Mamma Mia 'Alba. She has a lovely temper and great weorking ability and became SVCh NVCh in 2007. In October 2007 Alba got here first litter and we have kept a girl from this litter too - Lab-x-streams Valkyrie 'Kia' and we are going to train here on tracking as well. When we are planning a litter we think that health, temperament, working ability and look are to be the most important things.
